NDLA FAQS - 2025
What is NDLA?
We are the Nanaimo District Lacrosse Association. We are a 100% volunteer run association in Nanaimo that organizes minor box lacrosse for athletes from ages 5 to 21.
When do I register?
Registration for the 2025 season will open in December 2024. Please keep an eye on the website, Instagram, or Facebook for more information on the Registration opening date.
When does the season run?
The 2025 season will officially begin in April 2025 and will run until the end of June for the younger divisions. The older divisions (U13 and up) can potentially go into July for playoffs and provincials. Before the season begins in April, NDLA will be offering drop in lacrosse for registered players at the Harewood Covered Box (times in calendar and also posted under each age group on website).
What ages can play?
U7 for the 2025 season begins for kids born in 2019 and 2020. You can play coed lacrosse up until age 16 (if born in 2009) and female minor until the age 21 (if born in 2004).
Do you offer summer camps or other camps?
Currently we do not offer Spring Break or Summer Camps. Prior to the season starting we do offer Drop In lacrosse (details coming soon). The City of Nanaimo does offer some camps and details can be found in the Recreation Guide on the City of Nanaimo website.
Can I play lacrosse year-round?
Yes!
We offer Box lacrosse (typically played indoors in a rink) which starts in the Spring and runs into the Summer. For those looking to play lacrosse in the Fall and Winter that is Field lacrosse (played outside on a field), and it is offered through the Nanaimo Raiders Lacrosse. More info on Field lacrosse can be found at https://www.nanaimoraiderslacrosse.com/
Can I volunteer?
Yes Please!! We are always looking for coaches, referees, managers, and people to help on the Board. We are looking to grow our association and the only way we can do this with the help of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering please email Lindsay nanaimolacrosse@gmail.com
